NDP just didn’t do enough to limit the damage… with the limited influence they could have had. I recognize that they tried to some degree, but likely suffered from the contradictory messaging from the federal NDP party which may have contributed to some investment not coming to Alberta (and some leaving).

I admire the naked idealism of someone blaming a political adversary for something. "I don't know what it is but I'm sure it could have been better if somebody who feels like they share my political leanings was involved."
At the end of the day, the people supporting the NDP have concrete examples about the problems with the UPC they have. see the list of 400 things attached earlier, I'm not sure all 400 are great examples, but from keystone to the war room, to coal mining, to kananaskis fees, to fighting with public unions until we lose on the salary fight and lose employees/experience, to defunding eduction that has a positive net economic impact on the province over time, to the rank hypocrisy of their spending policies, to irresponsible and ineffective tax cuts, to wasting the spoils of this oil boom rather than securing the future. The problems with the UPC aren't just a feel that they probably could have done a better job.
