It’s too bad Huberdeau did not go over, as I have heard from some that even Team Canada had hoped he would. I think it could have sparked some confidence in his game. It was also mentioned that the Flames were hoping he went as well, and some in the office were a little disappointed he didn’t. Note, this does not mean they don’t have faith he will have a better season next year. As it is clear, they have that confidence.
I truly hope he returns to some semblance of a ppg player. Anything less and both the Flames and the fans are likely to be sour. The onus will be on him to train and get ready for a comeback season.
He doesn’t have to do the same as 19 is doing, as it’s doubtful he will. But, between Weeger playing well and a ppg Huby, the trade won’t seem so lopsided as it is now. However, what Huby does to prove it will not be determined till a year from now. It’s on him.

That's bizarre he wouldn't want to go over.
I'm also not sure what he has done with his time as a flame to warrant anyone defending him so far. He has a lot to prove after a terrible season in the Flaming C.
