Why does Love have to be a NHL head coach? Huska and numerous others don’t get head roles right away.

Blashill was the last AHL coach of the year winner to be in the NHL, and that was 8 years ago. He flamed out as the head coach in Detroit and is now an assistant in Tampa.
Roy Sommer has won 800 games in the AHL and outside of covering an end of season run off after Deboer was fired in SJ, he hasn’t been in the NHL.
