This is going to be a hard time to fix but I believe they have character people running the show (not to say BT wasn’t in that conversation as well). People need to let this play out before criticizing the moves and blaming ownership. Sure, we have a history of underperforming but it’s only fair to give this new regime a chance. Patience is going to be key. There is a lot of bad contracts on this team and turning into a Stanley cup caliber team overnight is just not realistic.
A lot of people screamed for change and here it is. Maybe the personnel could have been different but we are here now and it’s time to be fair as a fan base and give this group an opportunity (not to say they shouldn’t be immune to criticism but they haven’t made one move as a collective group). It seems that the group will be progressive and this is evident by them canning Sutter. It’s going to look different next year and let’s see how this plays out before automatically prescribing it as a failure before even playing a game.
Worst case scenario, we continue to suck or get worse…is this anything new? Of course I kid as it’s good to have high expectations but patience is also necessary.
