The challenge I have with Conroy is simply, why do we think anyone internal is the best candidate? In hockey, is there a crazy necessity to know the inside of the organization? If you work for a large corporation such as a bank there is a complexity to hiring an outsider because of the various complex departments/products/services. In hockey I imagine you have some broad departments but organization to organization, the product is the same as are the departments (more or less). So why do we have to hire internally? This shouldn't be a loyalty award should it?
