I hope that this list of underwhelming candidates just means that Conroy is the guy.
I have a feeling that Conroy was the top guy at the start, but ownership probably told them to talk to a wide range of candidates, and if Conroy was still their guy at the end, then hire him. If this is the list, then I think (hope) Conroy is still the guy.
I know some people think it's just to convenient that the best candidate would just happen to already be here, but i honestly think he deserves a chance. He was heavily leaned on by Treliving to get guys to sign, conduct scouting and player evaluations, and he was progressive enough to bring Danielle Fujita into the coaching staff. The players apparently love him, the fans love him, and he loves Calgary. I really think he is the guy.
