AGMs seem to have the green light to interview for GM jobs, but I am not so sure that is the case for GMs interviewing for GM jobs.
No inside knowledge, just an observation I was going to make when this became a discussion point.

I don't think there's any such distinction at all. There was never any time between Lou L's gigs, from NJ to Toronto and from Toronto to NYI, and he was generally moving laterally.
