Funny how easily such a tragedy can be turned around as a recruiting tool. Well less funny than sad and disturbing I guess, but you've gotta at least chuckle.
One day I'd like for one religious leader to turn around and say "I believe God is angry because we've skewered and tainted his message and image so badly in an effort to serve our own needs that He is punishing us."
Not that I think that would be the truth either, but I really think it would be a little more honest and responsible of the religious leaders. Though I won't be holding my breath while waiting.
My advice to all Muslims is that if sitting too close to a girl or having premarital sex with her is enough to set God off on a crazy water rampage, then you've probably already done worse and are on your way to hell, so just sit back, relax and have a few drinks. Or like the Irish, a LOT of drinks. Cheers!
