Is she qualified???
Has she ever worked for a NHL team? Any hockey team?
I guess that might not be what some people think is a qualification but there is more to the GM job than just crunching numbers, wouldn't skills like knowing how a scouting staff runs, what a scouting staff does, how to interact with coaches, what is needed to manage a Farm team, etc. be skills that would be important for a GM?
They obviously don't have to be an expert in each and many of that would be covered by other people that work for you but it seems like it would be tough to come to any job with zero experience in how the job is done.
And to hopefully mitigate some of the sexism that I will get labelled with I thought John Chayka was a #### hiring at the time and he at least had some experience in hockey and the NHL before his hire.
