That was my fear as well. I definitely think back then either of those two shouldn't have been dealt, but getting a franchise catcher is extraordinarily rare in baseball. Kirk had the right mental approach to the game and had little holes aside from his weight. He got fatter this year and that simply isn't professional (yeah, I said it). Jansen probably needs more looks to get into the flow of things. Thankfully he's not injured. But he reminds me a lot like Teoscar in that he's streaky (but difference being he swings early and ends up looking on the third strike). Moreno has looked pretty appealing for the future though. I wasn't happy about the trade at the time because of the value of defence the Jays placed, as well as the unproven theory that because of his LHB he'd break out with the banning of the shift. It's not a knock on him because I do like his approach, but it's a hope the Jays placed on a silly theory that the shift ban would make that much a difference. I think they oversold in that deal.
