Only chance any new party or the AP has is if a massive amount of current MLAs with big name recognition leave their party, likely mostly from UCP but could perhaps have some moderate NDP's as well, to join the party. Starting from scratch with mainly new people won't work. If a party like that was led by Nenshi perhaps they would have a chance, but the current structure of the AP won't work.

Like who? They've hitched their cart to Smith, they are now toxic. And I don't even know who would be considered sane who is still left in the party. If the UCP lose, the whole thing collapses. I don't think there is any salvaging it, if there was even anything there to salvage. The entire legacy of the party is Kenney and Smith. That's it. A giant turd and an entire sewage treatment plant. Burn it down.
