T'was a joke. Although, I'm assuming doing that is a royal PITA if it is even possible to do?
I didn't get to sell it, but I technically saved $350 CAD for my regular rental by notifying the rental car company vs throwing it off a bridge. Plus they upgraded my rental to something that would have been around $550 CAD and I was allowed to bring it back with an empty tank. I have a funny story to tell now, so I'm happy enough with that outcome. Rental car company handled it like a champ. I have had no issues going back to them to rent vehicles. #### happens. How you deal with #### shows character and business acumen. I probably could have asked for more than just a comped rental, but I'm not a dick.
The dude they sent either was a ####ty comedian or very aloof, but he actually asked me if I was certain the guns weren't mine. I'm like, "I'm from Canada, I've been in the US for 8 hours. I'm pretty sure this ain't mine" After that, he asked if it might have belonged to anyone else I was traveling with... because the lady standing 50 feet away with the two kids that I'm traveling with... let me go ask them if it's theirs.
