A brutal cross check at one end should not result in a goal at the far end of the ice. If that same play happens to Connor, I’m 99.9% certain it’s called a penalty. If it wasn’t, they would spend 15 minutes talking about it during the intermission.

Unfortunately it’s just a thing in all sports. Stars get special treatment. Look at some of the roughing the passers that it always felt like Tom Brady would get in his career
