I misinterpreted a question about “product disposal” on this warranty claim form from Marmot as meaning, what should *I* do with the product, not what do I want them to do with the product. It was like either “return the items” or “responsibly dispose of the items”. So after I got acknowledgment of the claim, I just disposed of the rain jacket, thinking they’ll just send me a credit or a new coat. A month later, they send me an email asking me to send a few more pictures of the jacket before they could decide what to do next.

I equally blame myself for hastily getting rid of things, but also the wording of the question (which to be fair, did have a link next to it that clarified the question, though it seemed to make sense at the time so I didn’t think to click on it).
