Fair to say the Flames are not at the top of the league regarding their current prospect pipeline but that doesn’t mean Pelletier, Zary,Coronato, Wolf aren’t quality prospects in any system or that there may be others like Piorier or Kuznetzov who turn out to be players.
Lanny’s right, your overly pessimistic view is lame.

With the Hubredeau, Kadri and Markstrom deals how are they well suited for a rebuild? Those are deals that will be virtually impossible to move and with those 3 players we are unlikely to ever be bad enough to get the picks we need so we get what we always have good players, but not the level that is needed to compete for the Cup.
As for the prospects it is barren but every team has Pelletier, Coronato, Zary level guys. Every team has guys like Kuznetzov and Poirier that might turn into something. That is the point we are just average when it comes to prospects, nobody to be excited about and we are resorting to hope that guys turn out better than they have shown so far.
There is nothing pessimistic about my view and I don't get why not being a homer is frowned on by so many, if that is how you choose to be a fan fair enough but what is lame is a group of people always ####ting on people that don't only cheer with Flames colored glasses on, that in no way makes you or others better fans.
