I think most of the 'sell off crowd' want us to sell high on older guys to collect more youth. Guys like Lindholm, Backlund, Toffoli whose values are very high (and the first two seemed interested in leaving after the season end interviews).
We are resigned to Huby's contract being untradable. I still think a few teams would be interested in Kadri after some shocking playoff exists this season. They'd value his grit, dark arts and experience. We won't be a contender for a few years so not sure his attributes are best applied here.
IMO the bounce back is exactly as likely as another similar year. We don't have enough facts to say they will bounce back, or get worse. There are some solid thoeries, but we don't really know why they sucked.
