People don't want to hear it, but the Flames have fostered the mentality of players having a big say in the next coach and how the team is run day to day. Inmates run in the asylum if you will, it that sounds too scary to some, buts it's essentially what's going on. All good until the coach starts pushing buttons to try and get players and the team into a different gear.
Last time meant that the team kept Ward after the playoff loss to Dallas and they wasted the next season as result.
Backlund actively campaigning to both remove Sutter, and become captain, pretty much says all you need to know about the similarities here (as Backlund has been a part of all those swings in coaches, after ironically being drafted by Sutter), and makes his comments last offseason (about think of asking for a trade becuase of Sutter and being bumped becuase of Kadri), and throughout this season and on garbage bag day, come into context.

What the heck are you rambling on about.
Who goofed off?
Backlund was upset because he was the 3C he was played a lot and his minutes stayed the same not sure how you make up all these things.
The Flames tuned out Sutter in 06 in one of the most embarrassing game 7 displays on home ice. He was never going to coach that group again. He was as bad as Treliving in finding a coach
