That sounds fair and is obviously true for you, but it doesn't go that way with almost anyone I play with. We're pretty much all better scorers from the whites.
Hazards change for sure, but ultimately the difference between 100-150y approaches and 155-180y approaches on second shots for me and almost everyone I know is the difference between often hitting greens and getting the odd good birdie look, with mostly par/bogey finishes (aka, having fun while golfing) and missing greens wildly and struggling to save bogey/double bogeys.
