Sometimes, my odd nerdiness makes me happy. It means I buy useful (to me anyway) little gadgets. I got myself a Bissell Steamshot (thanks TikTok, LOL) and it makes me silly happy, how well it steams things clean. My lungs are damaged from an autoimmune reaction, and oven cleaners are something I can't use. I can't even be in the house when they're used. I got it done, I didn't have to vacate the house to get the oven clean, and the hubster didn't have to touch it.
I also now have the cleanest window tracks in the whole neighborhood, I think.  That steam gets in all the smallest nooks and crannies that I can't get into. I tried it on a tap out at camp, with that hard water buildup and same thing - gets it right off. I don't like cleaning, but I do like clean things and this helps me accomplish that far easier, and much quicker.

Is it a true nerd thing or is it a cleaning satisfaction thing? Like a Marie Kondo, "Does this bring me joy?" type of mood?
I get a similar sense of satisfaction with an ultrasonic cleaner. When people come over, I'll clean their glasses with basically nothing but water. They almost always remark it's the cleanest their glasses have ever been. Certain jewelry goes in as well and then the precious stones sparkle brightly with less crud blocking light reflection. Gross but satisfying to see the oil cloud come out from the nooks and crannies.
I haven't used a steamer on my windows yet even though I have one. But I do have a wet vacuum I use on upholstery to get rid of the stuff the kids spill onto it? Again, satisfying to see it look like not a disgusting seat.
