Greatest Generation — 1901-1927.
Silent Generation — 1928-1945.
Baby Boomers — 1946-1964.
Generation X — 1965 - 1980.
Millennials — 1981-1996.
Generation Z — 1997-2012.
Generation Alpha — 2013 - present.

I feel some people don't realize that a "Boomer" is as young as 56/57. I'm pretty sure most 56 year olds don't fall in to the "old curmudgeon" boss category.
But you don't need to BE old to act like an old curmudgeon.
It's about the culture someone is socialized and raised in.
Which is likely why, on the whole, Gen X is one of the most right leaning generations. The coming of age during Reaganism etc.
