Anybody here want Bobrovsky the last 3 years???
Karlson just had 100 point season and has 4 years left, way more attractive than a guy who "might" bounce back. But still a difficult trade to make.
No contender has room for him and the teams with space have created that space for a reason and it's not to help Calgary out of a jam.
Be honest, if you are the GM of any other team, would you even look at Huberdeau without at least the equivalent of 2 firsts attached?

You start with a shady premise (the bolded). There is no more reason to call Huberdeau a 50 point guy than there is to call him a 115 point guy.
As for Karlsson, he was untradable, for a time, when his production dropped too far below his contract. However, once his production improved, so did his trade value.
While Huberdeau's value would be very low this summer, due to the tough year, along with a large new contract, it is not at all unreasonable to assume that his value will return when his production does.
There is absolutely no point in trying to trade him now, but it is foolish to think he will remain valueless indefinitely.
