McDavid took a bit of a knee from Doughty in the first round and has had some issues with mobility ever since, without the same explosiveness that allowed him to get around defenders.
Vegas was the better team last night with more sustained pressure for the most part. The Oilers had periods where they played well but their defense couldn’t get the puck out and the depth of the Knights was taking its toll on the Oilers.
Desharnais Is brutal though and while I don’t believe in laying losses at the feet of a number 6 defenseman he is trying his hardest to make an exception to that. Awful passes, poor clearings, bobbling the puck in his own zone, turnovers… an inability to clear the zone or have any breakout passes.
