Yeah, when something is shown to the audience in the first scene of the pilot I think you're allowed to talk about it.
That being said.
Yellowjackets is basically Lost for fans of The Silence of the Lambs or Hannibal or Jennifer's Body. There are two stories running in parallel, the teen soccer team trying to survive post plane crash in the wilderness, and then those same teens as adults back in society 25ish years later. Both timelines are interwoven to enhance the other, much like the Flashforward Season of Lost.
Edit: I also personally think that knowing a fact like that doesn't make the show good or bad. It's all in how it's executed. But I'd never casually drop a 'Vader is Anakin Skywalker" level of reveal.
