If they are going to have bounce back seasons, why should Calgary trade them now? Better to wait for the bounce back season, and then move them.
The fact is, no team is going to bet $84MM on Huberdeau bouncing back to the degree where he is worth that contract. That's a ton of cap that needs to be managed going forward, not many teams could even afford it if they wanted to.
And Kadri really didn't fall off that badly, he was likely never worth that contract in the first place.
