I'm not picking on your post specifically, but I find how the "narrative" on Sutter, or anyone for that matter, just changes based on how things have most recently gone.
For example, your post, Sutter plays favorites no one knows where they stand and people are confused - and not something that Torts does (another lightning Rod).
But when we were winning last year, and when we first brought him in as coach and people who were on winning teams with him previously were asked about him it was all: he's not always positive, but he's a straight shooter. You know where you stand with him always which is all you can ask for. He doesn't play favorites, star player or 4th liner, you have to put in the same work.
Like everything, we just shift the narrative to suit the current situation.
