I didn’t see Huberdeau whining. I saw him putting in the effort in to the low skill system deployed, and getting the results you get from playing a good chunk of time with middle and bottom six linemates on your off wing, in a low skill system.
I saw players who were visibly frustrated in their interviews, but the effort was there
I don’t question the character or effort at all there for most players on the team
(Kadri, different story. He obviously had many costly turnovers where the GAF meter was turned off)
I did not see the team as having an epidemic of whiners.

Yeah Huberdeau was a total pro all year.
If anything he tried to hard and created some of his own misery.
That isn't to say his poor season was all on Sutter deployment and systems, as the player was dead on stick player for a lot of the season.
Glad Sutter is gone, they needed a new look, but I'm not letting Huberdeau off the hook for his share of a poor season (whether that's 20%, 80% or something in between)
