It will be interesting to see if the Angels trade him or take the compensation for him getting signed. You'd think Ohtani for this year's playoffs would be worth at least a first+ to someone (and the compensation pick would be between round 1 and 2). Angels comp pick would be between 2 and 3 since they are a revenue sharing paying team. That doesn't seem worth much.
The Dodgers don't generally like handing out mega deals. I can see the Padres passing on re-signing Soto and going all in on Ohtani.
