As Sutter was losing the room and his job in LA, Kopitar had 52 points, then when Sutter left, jumped up to 92
And Sutter played those guys in their proper position
No question he stifles his stars’ offense, asking them to sacrifice personal stats for the team
It’s kind of actually been his thing
(with the exception of two guys in contract years, 13 and 19, who said ‘#### this’ and had their line play a different game, which was so effective he really couldn’t do much different)

You sound like an Oilers fan. Personal stats are your preferred method of success? You just pointed out the two players that actually had the most team success under Sutter, so I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove? I wonder why Sutter was Iginla’s favourite coach then? Or how Kopitar stumbled his way into two cups?
Personally, I actually feel it’s time to move on from Sutter. He gave the veterans too much leash this year, when to me it’s pretty clear there are young guys ready to take over.
However, the narratives going around are getting crazy and tiresome. Is Sutter still a smart hockey guy? Yes. Do I concede it’s probably time for him to move on? You bet.
