Some places have way too many of those pickup spots. If I show up and there's 16 free spots, I'll be the one with the balls to use one. For the 5 minutes I'm in the store there's no chance 15 are getting filled.
Flipping Lowes and Staples has tons and I've yet to see a single person use one for a pickup order.
