I think coaching can have a huge impact on a players potential. Sutter wanted defence from him at the cost of his offence. That's on Sutter taking a skilled forward and making him do dirty work. Waste of talent. Sutter's team style doesn't allow the best players to get away with mediocre defence.
Secondly, I think many people don't know how much Barkov played a role in taking the heat off Huberdeau. The second he was dealt here he was destined to be a 80 point player based on team style and not having the calibre of linemate. I didn't see him as a superstar, but a definite star who would produce at a lower clip. With Sutter gone, I could see him building confidence to hit 75 points this year with the right approach, but we'll see.
