You don’t even have to look much further than, well, Darryl Sutter to see what Darryl Sutter does
Iggy got 67 points under Sutter then the next year 94 in 70 games under Playfair (a 110 point pace), followed by a 98 point season
As Sutter was losing the room and his job in LA, Kopitar had 52 points, then when Sutter left, jumped up to 92
And Sutter played those guys in their proper position
No question he stifles his stars’ offense, asking them to sacrifice personal stats for the team
It’s kind of actually been his thing
(with the exception of two guys in contract years, 13 and 19, who said ‘#### this’ and had their line play a different game, which was so effective he really couldn’t do much different)
