Someone said earlier in the year that the players went to the Treliving to tell him to make Sutter play Pelts or send him down it was dumb. In turn Sutter put him and embarrassed him in the media for no reason but to stick it to Treliving.
I wonder if playing him so high up in the lineup was sticking it to Treliving as well. He didn't deserve the minutes he got but he also didn't deserve to be scratched and playing 6 minutes.

A GM is responsible for ensuring that player's get developed. If you have a coach who refuses to play clearly deserving prospects, you're going to end up with a group of prospects that had great potential but, then, never got the opportunity to develop in the NHL.
I'm really excited to see what this group can do with 2-4 young players in the lineup next year. Even the Oilers, who can't draft, are getting contributions from Klim Kostin (yes, I realize they didn't draft him either, not the point). Most successful teams have young players who are hungry and step it up to provide depth scoring. Lewis, Ritchie, and Lucic were not going to be the ones to step up their game.
