Like twenty years from now is anyone there going to remember Tampa's back to back Cups, or LA Kings wins in 2012 and 2014? No, because they've just moved on to bigger and more recent championships in other leagues and always have something else to cheer for.
A Canadian team winning a Cup, any Canadian team, goes down as an all-time legendary accomplishment for that city. The fans will tell stories to their grandchildren of where they were when it went down. The Cup belongs in Canada and it's been way too long, so I hope for a Canadian team to win even if it's Edmonton or Toronto.
