Did you stop using Twitter once Elon Musk took over? Do you agree with CBC leaving the platform after being branded government funded? Do you choose to avoid Rebel News and True North Media?
Note how easy you can stop using any private organization if you don't agree with their practices or their politics? That's not the same when all feeds are forcibly manipulated as regulated by the government. Sure you can stop using that source, but all others will inevitably feed you the same Bell Media / Rogers / Telus bland Canadianized low cost versions of whatever hot commodity you want to view. And much like our overlayed Super Bowl commercials telling you to watch Amazing Race Canada 10 times in 10 min instead of seeing the coolest Pepsi commercial, so too will your favourite Youtube streamers and content providers be forced to show you Canadian content by our monopoly. Want to search for Big Brother? You mean Big Brother Canada right?
It dilutes the quality of content you watch, and content that is presented to you. And that's the issue with such a bill (now turned law), it could be used solely for this and just make us more bored to death, but the way it's written could most definitely be used for more nefarious reasons.
No, Bill C-11 isn't going to kill you or your unborn children, nor does anyone state such. Being forced to watch Amazing Race Canada may cause you to twitch, but it won't kill you or harm you (wtf?)
And again, for what purpose? There is literally no benefit to the average Canadians.
