This doesnt change the fact both Lindholm and Backlund were/are on the outs.
I'd need some commitment prior to the draft in terms of extensions etc before I start promoting captains and going into next season with them on the roster.
Far too valuable of assets to let walk into contract years with no plan.
Hopefully we find out soon if they were mad because of Sutter or if their desire to move on runs deeper.
