This part of this question never comes across.

The kid is using different pronouns at school, because they are scared of their parents reaction.

So the question at first glance sounds like it should be obvious “of course the parents should know!”, but in the cases where this is an issue, it’s usually the parents that are dangerous, or at least perceived as dangerous by the kids.
