Sutter is a post-season coach. Playoff hockey is what Sutter is great at. History have shown that he and his teams have succeeded in the playoffs. However, Sutter pushes his team to play that hard grinding hockey 82-games going into the playoffs. It's a tough game to play and you need big bodies to do it. This is why a coach like Sutter can only last 3 years. By the 3rd year, everyone's pretty much tuned the guy out or hates playing his system. He didn't last long in San Jose and LA. I kind of expected the same with the Flames the second time around. Still a shock to see him go but at the same time it was either last season or the upcoming one that would seal his coaching coffin for good.
