IMO Rasmus is a solid #2D and if he had a partner with all the tools, a guy like Werenski, it would be vital to hang on to him. Opposite a guy like Chychrun he'd do very well.
However, the reality is:
- Andersson doesn't fit opposite Zadorov.
- Forcing Weegar or Tanev to play their off-side just to accomodate Andersson isn't really a great plan going forward
- Weegar is under contract for virtually the next decade
- Tanev is irreplaceable. Even if he ages out, you're looking for another Tanev, and Andersson is not that.
- Andersson may fit opposite Hanifin, but Hanifin becomes a liability the higher the stakes get.
- Kylington - Andersson may be a decent pair, but didn't have a great track record back when they were actually a pair
- Andersson has a
ton of positive trade value, probably even more than the return I suggested above, but I'm no GM. It's nice to trade from a position of strength instead of always being the team losing trades because you forced players to request them or drove their careers into the ground by playing them through injuries.
