It’s not that Darryl was or is a bad coach, or that, in some respects, that he was too demanding. I think 2 things stand out. First, he is condescending and that is toxic for any organization. Too many times he criticized or belittled without reason. Second, he was way too stubborn and rigid in terms of systems, style and personnel deployment. He kept going to the same well, the same system, the same ice-time reward system. It was time.
