First, I’m sorry to hear this and I hope my comments here are helpful. So, I would have your sister watch this very carefully. My mom had a stroke a few years ago and it was minor. She also had some balance issues. Literally three years ago, she seemed basically normal, and could live on her own and everything. She wasn’t able to drive, and that was tough because her independence was huge, but she made it work. Fast forward to now, and she’s in long-term care. We had no idea how fast things would decline. But, she’s obviously had more mini strokes or events and multiple falls and issues. Frankly, it was terrifying and very difficult to deal with.
I really hope that’s not the case for your mom and that things are much easier. I just wanted to post this to say that you guys will want to keep a close watch on things, from my purely anecdotal experience. If you have questions or anything, feel free to reach out.
