@Paulie Walnuts - Terrible take on Sutter's courage and responsibility. I think a little more context would have been helpful here. Limit that comment to this past season and you are probably fine.

@All in Good Time - I think context in your defense would also be appreciated and stop the bickering. Darryl Sutter HAS BEEN a man of courage in the past. Darryl Sutter HAS BEEN a man of responsibility in the past. Darryl Sutter HAS BEEN successful in the past. Darryl Sutter HAS BEEN a winner in the past. Darryl Sutter HAS BEEN a great coach, in the past.

The emphasis here is HAS BEEN. Darryl Sutter is a HAS-BEEN and this past season is a great example of that. What he did this past season was horrific and detrimental to not only the club he coached but his legacy. CaliPanthersFan got in some hot water yesterday for suggesting that Sutter was worse for the Flames than Peters, but he wasn't far off. Cali's comments were not in defense of a racist but were an assessment of the job the two coaches did in maintaining the dressing room. Peters actually created a tight room while Sutter has made it toxic. That was the focus of his comment, but the CP pearl clutchers attacked him for defending a racist, which he did not. He was measuring performance and outcomes. Sutter made the ultimate transgression as a manager and turned the environment toxic, which in most organizations gets you fired without a bat of an eye.

So yes, Darryl Sutter is fine man and a quality human being. Darryl Sutter has a history of success and assuming responsibility for his actions. Unfortunately, that is all in the past and what he has done since his return and most importantly what did this most recent season is not consistent with the picture you paint of him. Sutter is a has-been and should be terminated for his performance behind the bench this past season.
