It's not even taking away a park or space people use, it's a big grassy sound barrier. People will object to anything.

Well, not connected to this, but I know that one of those facilities is going to make way for a redevelopment in a couple of years as well. And I get that you're still trying to make this about class and income, but the truth is there are all kinds of housing options in the area. There are apartments, condos, townhouses and single family houses.
