This is what I was thinking as well. First, not everyone in the province or city of Calgary are hockey fans or concert goers. Some of them might be for it, and some of them neutral, but the vast majority of those people are probably not going to like it. Then you have to consider that practically the whole city of Edmonton will be against it, plus Oiler fans in general who out number Flames fans, there is going to be a lot of opposition.
If I lived in Calgary, I would be all for it, but I wouldn't be holding my breath at this point, especially if the UCP loses. Most polls show the NDP in the lead, but it's close enough that it is hard to predict. Some poll results were released today, but likely don't reflect yesterday's news. It will be interesting to see how the next polls look.
