You can tell the city took it on the chin by Sharp’s and Gondek’s responses to the increased costs.
Gondek, who helped scuttle the old deal, pretty much said “now we’ve transparently included all infrastructure scope”.
While Sharp, who got brought in to put things back on the rails, pretty much said “ya well that’s just the cost of moving forward today”. She was incredibly impressive.
The total sticker price went up by, what, $500M. Only a fool would believe that’s all infrastructure scope inclusion. The city are wearing that plus inflation, with a nice little partial face saving bailout from the province.
