Does it matter?
Will the new GM really matter if the ownership and front office culture rumor's are true?
-Over reaching ownership.
-Refusing to take a serious look at a rebuild.
-Always pushing to just get into the playoffs.
-Will not replace the coach due to a 4mx2 year extension and not pay him not to coach. He failed this year.
-Past power struggle between the coach and GM.
-Coach may get a say on the new GM.
-Coach will not play younger players.
-Coach conflict with many players
If those rumors are true, its going to limit who wants to take the job when you're really not in control. Perhaps this year was just a one off year, where many players had career worst seasons. If they are not firmly in a playoff spot next year at the deadline, that should signal it time to rebuild.
