Carolina has been amongst the best at managing assets. The Flames have been amongst the worst.
I get that Conroy's continuity has value.
But logically speaking, Tulsky has been around a management that has exceeded expectations.
The Hurricanes have made 40 draft picks in the past 4 years despite being one of the best teams in the league in that time.
It's insane how effective they've been.
Their contract situation is also great.
From the Hurricanes' page:
"Eric Tulsky is in his eighth season with the Hurricanes and his second as assistant general manager. As assistant general manager, Tulsky is involved in all player personnel decisions, oversees pro scouting and the team's hockey information department, and assists with player contract negotiations, salary cap compliance, and other hockey-related matters."
He clearly deserves a lot of the credit.
