Yep, I find that to be the case around here too. Treliving must truly be a wizard, because he's managed to find a way to shield himself from all the blame and somehow shift it to everyone else but himself.
I've already said my piece regarding all the coaches he's been allowed to hire and fire; so I won't rehash that. But even if the mandate from the higher ups is to be competitive and not rebuild. There's really no way for Brad to excuse himself of way he executed on that mandate: Troy Brouwer, James Neal, Brian Elliott, Travis Hamonic, Mike Smith, Curtis Lazar, Mason Raymond, Brandon Bollig, Jonas Hiller and etc? Also, how about Markstrom, Kadri and Huberdeau? He brought in all 3 of these guys and how much did they actually help the team this season? The Flames actually might have been better off without these guys and their collective cap hits this season.
Honestly, Brad did some good as a GM and he worked harder than probably anyone. But his talent evaluation and vision ultimately hindered him and this team's ability to get to the next level.
