I'd go for it more aggressively than you would. I think that's an ok debate. Maybe the issue was if you can't land a Tavares 'Leafs PJs' player you just sit out. I dunno. The clock ticks on how long you can keep a core together in a meh market with #### facilities (as we have seen).
The team had a 2-3 year window to go for it with young stars, or not. I don't fault going for it.

I was referring to the cup-winning Kings. They accumulated a lot of young talent like Brayden Schenn and traded him and others for Carter and Richards prior to their cup win.
The window thing always bothers me. Teams like Boston, Tampa, and Pittsburgh (not this season) seem to have perpetual windows built around key players that spend their careers there. Maybe we can’t keep players that long or maybe we don’t choose to, I don’t know. Getting the stars to align for a short window seems impossible to do.
