It wasn't a comment about Flame fans, or Calgary fans, or even Canadian fans. It was a comment about average, or more casual, fan.

I do think Canadian fans specifically can get on board with a long-term plan even if it means pain.
They discussed in the press conference the concern of failing to sellout games down the stretch. Whether that has to do with the economy, the direction of the team, or the entertainment level of individual games themselves, whatever direction the Flames were going in... that plan would concern me as a manager. The Flames sold out every game from the 2013-2016 'rebuild era' if we can call it that.
