I, however, don't see how that happens with Sutter coaching. Maybe just have the GM straight up tell Sutter that's what he's working with, and not sign any vets. Lewis, Lucic, and Ritchie are all gone, which is a huge start to forcing Sutter's hand on playing the youth.

I'm with you. Some of the coaching decisions last year were baffling. Not shortening the bench and continuing to roll out the 4th line in every game situation? Not building a PP that takes advantage of one of the best passers in the game? Leaving youth in the pressbox, OT lineups, roster decisions, goaltending decisions, the list goes on.
Bizarre year.
